The New Canaan Rams kept a few steps and hits ahead of the Greenwich High School Cardinals in girls softball Wednesday afternoon, edging the Cards by a score of 3-2.
The Rams were the first on fhe scoreboard and by the end of the top of the third inning, the Rams were ahead 2-0. The Rams put the third run on the board in the top of the sixth inning when pitcher Ali Reilly crossed the plate.
The Cardinal loss ends their seven-game winning streak. Their record now stands at 14-5 while New Canaan improves to 13-6.
The winning pitcher was Reilly with Alison Kach pitching for Greenwich.
The Cards close their season on Friday when they visit Danbury.
