Representing the Mid-Fairfield Youth Hockey Association, the Connecticut Ice Cats U-12 girls hockey team reached the quarterfinals of the Tier 2 national championship this past weekend in Anaheim, Calif.
New Canaan players on the team were Gianna Bruno, Layne McKeown, Brooke Deane and Riley Reed. The Ice Cats qualified for the playoffs by going 2-1 in pool play.

Emma Stevens was the team's leading scorer in the tournament with seven points on five goals and two assists.
