New Canaan defeated Fairfield Warde 6-1 Wednesday in the Class L girls tennis quarterfinals to improve to 21-0. The results:

On May 26, New Canaan's Brian Tohir and CJ Swift tied for second at the Chappa tournament at Longshore Country Club in Westport with a 3-under par 66.
The tournament consisted of the top two golfers from 88 teams in the state playing a two-man best ball format.
Four New Canaan players qualified for the Holohan tournament, which serves as the FCIAC's individual championship.
Tohir tied for third with a 74, Swift was tied for seventh with a 78 and Patrick Hagerty and Ben Katz finished tied for 18th at 81.
New Canaan plays in the FCIAC team championship today at the Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course in Fairfield.

The Family Britches Angels avenged an early-season loss with a 9-6 victory over the Vicolo Pizza Rockies on Thursday. Jonathan Hall helped seal the win with a two-run triple in the fifth.
Ben Dooley, Dylan Shane and Bailey Williams had key hits for the Angels while Jack Vaske, Andrew Gallois, and Matt Robbins turned in strong performances for the Rockies.

New Canaan 7, Watertown 2 (Class L, second round) -- Cydney Ventura, who tossed six innings to earn the win, and Brittany Overacker each had three hits for the Rams, who play at archrival Darien in the quarterfinals on Friday

New Canaan 1, Branford 0 (Class L, second round) -- Peter Meadowns tossed a complete-game five-hitter for the Rams, who face No. 21 RHAM in the quarterfinals on Saturday at the University of New Haven. The teams were locked in a scoreless battle until the seventh, when Casey Ouellette doubled and scored the eventual winning run on Alex Farina's sacrifice fly

New Canaan 15, Hand 3 (Class M, first round) -- Peter Krause had four goals for the Rams, who play at No. 2 seed East Lyme in the quarterfinals on Saturday. Scott O'Brien added four assists and Duke Repko scored three goals for New Canaan.
