Thegirls basketball team concluded its regular season Wednesday with a 52-42 loss to undefeated Danbury.
Sarah Mannelly scored 18 points and Courtney Rogers added 15 for the Rams, who finished 10-10 overall and 8-10 in the FCIAC.

New Canaan led 11-6 after the first quarter, but Danbury used a 14-6 second period to take a 20-17 lead at the half, then outscored the Rams 15-8 in the third period for a 35-25 lead heading into the final eight minutes.
Rachel Gartner scored 22 points and Casey Smith added 14 for the Hatters, who completed a 20-0 regular season.

Danbury is the top seed for the FCIAC playoffs and will host No. 8 Darien in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

The New Canaan boys basketball team suffered a 63-47 loss on Wednesday to Danbury, which is trying to stay in the FCIAC playoff race.
Corey Chaffee scored 15 points and James Harrington added 13 for the Hatters, who improved to 10-8 overall and 8-8 in the FCIAC.
New Canaan jumped out quick, taking a 14-11 lead after the first quarter, but Danbury outscored the Rams 19-12 in the second period to take a 30-26 halftime lead.
Danbury then put away the contest with a 23-10 burst in the third quarter for a 53-36 lead entering the final period.
Will Burger scored 13 points and William Braden added 11 for New Canaan, which dropped to 1-17 and 0-16.
