5th Grader Wins St. Luke's Geography Bee

St. Luke’s School in New Canaan was abuzz on January 28 with news of a fifth grader winning the annual Middle School Geography Bee. Ten students in grades 5-8 answered an array of questions posed by History teacher Merideth Ostrer. After several rounds, the competition narrowed to 5th grader Jackson Hart from Darien and 6th grader Charlie Knight from New Canaan. In the end, Jackson’s flawless answers brought him the winning title. Charlie secured the second place win, and 7th graders, Eva Fennigdorf from West Redding and Drew Schott from Greenwich, tied for third place.  If Jackson passes a written test, he’ll move onto the Connecticut Geography Bee on April 4 held at Central Connecticut State University.  The winner of the statewide competition moves onto the National Geography Bee in May.
