St. Luke's Hosts Visual Artists
Three exceptional artists spoke during two packed Lunch & Lead sessions at St. Luke's School. The SLS Art Department and Center for Leadership hosted Payton Cosell Turner, a 2004 Alumnae, Hayley Sarno (daughter of SLS art teacher Nancy Sarno), and Joseph Hicks.
Payton Cosell Turner spoke with students about "The Power of Side Projects." She is a designer, illustrator, and founder of Flat Vernacular, a design company that specializes in creating original hand drawn and hand printed wallpapers. Hayley Sarno designs jewelry and hair accessories for Marc by Marc Jacobs, and has also worked for Ralph Lauren and Monica Rich Kosann. Joining Hayley in a presentation called "Unconventional Pathways to a Career in Design," was her former Ralph Lauren colleague, Joseph Hicks. Currently, Joseph is a Senior Designer for Coach Men's Accessories.
The SLS Art Deparment's Visual Arts week included daily exposure to designers and illustrators, as well as visiting and homegrown artists. The Senior Solo and Spring Art Shows also launched during Visual Arts week and were highlighted as part of SpringFest 2013.
