Small Space Gardens: Homemade Basil Pesto and Italian Caprese Salad

“The first supermarket supposedly appeared on the American landscape in 1946. That is not very long ago. Until then, where was all the food? Dear folks, the food was in homes, gardens, local fields, and forests. Summer is the perfect time to put your hands in the dirt and bring fresh garden herbs and vegetables into your kitchen and onto the dining table. Although I have a very limited space in which to create my garden oasis, after many trials (including many failures!) I have found the perfect for my small space porch garden. Easy plants such as basil and patio tomatoes can be used in a variety of ways and always add freshness to a recipe. Check out two of my favorite garden fresh recipes (Homemade Basil Pesto and Classic Italian Caprese Salad) and get my porch planting tips at TheFoodetarian.com!
