With Thanksgiving behind us the next big, and I mean BIG, event is the this Friday, Dec. 2 and Saturday, Dec. 3. A weekend of merriment, shopping, strolling and dining, it marks the official kick off to the Holiday Shopping Season!
The festivities begin Friday in downtown New Canaan at 5:30pm. The evening will feature performances from the , a Christmas play entitled, "Two Little Snowflakes", singers from and and dancers from the dancing through town. In addition, a cast of characters from toy soldiers, to elves and Rudolph will make their debut.
The highlight will be with the arrival of at 6:30pm and the lighting of the downtown trees. The audience will be invited to participate in a sing-a-long of holiday favorites and the will be on hand selling homemade waffles!
All stores will be open late with treats for all and the kids are going to love all the Holiday trinkets we have ready to go!
Saturday the excitement continues from 10am-4pm with the first stop, at the running from 7am 'til noon, followed by a day of strolling, shopping and dining.
You won't want to miss the Gingerbread House Tour in various New Canaan store windows, not to mention our new feature of the day: , 102 Park Street from 12:00pm to 1:30pm.
The Norwalk Symphony Quintet will be on hand to serenade you and magicians and clowns will be roaming the streets to entertain the young and not so young.
Following his arrival, Santa will be in front of the with his sleigh and Rudolph for photo-ops most of the day!
