Some new closings in New Canaan were announced Tuesday afternoon due to the inclement weather rolling through the area.
New Canaan Public Schools will open on a three-hour delay Wednesday, January 22.
New Canaan Town Government offices will open at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
"All Department of Motor Vehicles offices will close today at 2:45 p.m. due to the inclement weather. Please consult the DMV website at ct.gov/dmv for further updates regarding the opening times of offices [Wednesday] following the storm."
The New Canaan Library will close at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
The Food Pantry session scheduled for Tuesday has been moved to Thursday, January 23, from 6:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The pantry follows the same closing procedures as New Canaan Public Schools.
The New Canaan YMCA will also be closing at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The Recreational Pool will close at 3 p.m. All group exercise classes are cancelled for the day beginning at 1 p.m. All youth classes are cancelled for the day beginning at 1 p.m. Rainbow Station and Kids Unlimited will close at 3 p.m. Residents are urged to call the Y at 203-966-4528 before stopping by Wednesday morning.
The New Canaan Board of Education meeting has been rescheduled for January 22.
The Planning & Zoning Special Meeting planned for Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at the New Canaan Nature Center has been canceled. The public meeting was set to address the Plan of Conservation and Development.
The Emergency Medical Services Commission meeting scheduled for 7:30 p.m. is canceled.
