Farewell to Summer, Kindergarden Excitement, Tax-Free Wrap-Up, All Out for Autism

Hey New Canaan, your weather outlook for the weekend hits 83 on Friday and drops through the weekend, though not by much. Luckily, the skies remain mostly clear and there's no prediction for rain.

Connecticut Tax-Free Sales Week wraps up Saturday, so be sure to get all your back-to-school shopping before then!

There's still time to register for Friday evening's All Out for Autism 5K. Help burn off those calories from the Taste of the Town Stroll  and support a great cause.

The Farewell To Summer Night Hike at the New Canaan Nature Center will take place Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m. Find out how your senses compare to nocturnal animals and leave the flashlights at home! Personnel will have emergency flashlights on hand, but it's a hike in the dark. Advanced registration is required, and participants should come dressed for evening weather and be able to be outdoors for at least an hour.

There's an "I'm Starting Kindergarden" program at the New Canaan Library Friday at 11 a.m., and at 1 p.m., Game Week Fun festivities wrap up, so if you haven't yet been, be sure to check it out.

There's a free event Saturday if you're in the market for a kitty. Visit Village Critter Outfitter at 107 Cherry Street for a Friends of Felines-hosted event form 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Several kittens will be available.
