LobsterFest, NCHS Tag Sale & Car Wash, Save the Sound

Hey New Canaan, Friday and Saturday linger in the mid-70s before dipping to 71 on Sunday, with some showers predicted for the tail end of the weekend. Evening temps dip to mid-to-high 50s, according to Weather.com.

The New Canaan High School Annual Tag Sale and Car Wash takes place this weekend kicking off Saturday at 9 a.m. at the high school. This annual event benefits the award winning Drama program at the school which puts on five productions each year.

The New Canaan Rotary Club's LobsterFest takes place starting Friday at 5 p.m. and running through Saturday at 8 p.m. It will be held at the New Canaan Historical Society at 13 Oenoke Ridge Road. Tickets are $30 at the door and takeout is available.

 the Sound, volunteers, and partners including sponsor Bank of America will gather at 17 sites around Connecticut’s coastline this Saturday to participate in International Coastal Cleanup Day. Locally, volunteers can help pitch in and pick up trash and debris along Greenwich's Tod's Point park on Tod's Driftway in Old Greenwich, starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21. Here is the list of scheduled cleanups throughout the region. Save the Sound, which has coordinated the Connecticut cleanups for eleven years, last year brought together 2,450 volunteers to remove 16,310 pounds of trash from Long Island Sound’s shoreline and Connecticut waterways.
