<p>One  full-time and two part-time Animal Control officers respond to calls regarding dog bites, bats flying indoors, battles between dogs and wild life, roaming dogs, and rabies risks.</p>
<p>Animal Control also keeps track of bears and coyotes that occasionally wander through town. If you see a coyote add a report to the sightings map at <a href="http://patch.com/gAMG">http://patch.com/gAMG </a> and be sure to call it in to 203-594-3510.</p> <p>Stray dogs will be taken in and put up for adoption after seven days. Lost and found cats are only logged.</p> <p>Once a year, Animal Control joins Strays and Others in sponsoring a low-cost rabies vaccination and spaying and neutering clinic.</p> <p>Animal Control is part of the Police Department.</p>

  • Hours: Full-time officer on duty Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 3pm. Part-time officers on duty Saturdays and Sundays, 8:30am - 2:30pm. For immediate response outside regular hours call the main police non-emergency line, 203-594-3500
