The Congregational Church of New Canaan was established nearly 300 years ago. The church's meeting house is the apex of the trio of historic chapels that make up God's Acre and the site for the annual town carol sing on Christmas Eve.

The parish, which started in 1733 with 24 members now has 2,000 who come from a variety of religious backgrounds.

The main meeting house has room for 500, the chapel seats and 100, and Smith Hall can accommodate an overflow hall of 800, all connected with a state-of-the-art AV system.

The church has active service ministries including local outreach and annual adult mission trips.

Youth groups start in the third grade and continue through high school. More than 100 kids routinely attend the high school group alone. Christian education starts in pre-school and concludes with confirmation class for eighth graders.

Adult educational offerings include Yale Divinity School Bible studies.

Music is also big. Kid's can join choir programs as early as two. The organ celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2008. The Music Director organizes a spectacular Halloween organ concert each year.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets at the church Monday through Friday at 7:30 a.m. Music Together also rents space, and church facilities are available to rent for community, mission, and service groups.
