Community Corner

3rd Annual Silvermine ArtsFest

Come and stroll the grounds and Sculpture Walk, and enjoy A Tale of Two Nations featuring Maracatu Nacao Estrela Brilhante and Nation Beat, a combination of contemporary percussion with the music and dance of one of Brazil's oldest and most respected music groups. Part music group, part Carnival, part dancing parade, Estrela Brilhante's colorful and vibrant ritual will lead you around the campus. There will be an outdoor concert featuring a full performance of Maracatu Nacao Estrela Brilhante's A Tale of Two Nations followed by a parade which will include workshop participants from the School of Art and Norwalk Housing Authority. There will also be exciting hands-on art activities for all ages with Silvermine School of Art Faculty. Not to be missed!

The Silvermine Campus will be closed to cars and shuttle buses will be available. Funding was made possible though Southern Exposure: Performing Arts of Latin America, a program of Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Robert Clark Foundation, and CT Office of the Arts.
