announces the continuation of the ArtScapades six-part series on European Art.
On Monday, October 28th, ArtScapades presents a look at Romanticism. This lecture explains how Romanticism championed spiritualism over science, instinct over deliberation, and nature over industry. Works by Goya, Friedrich, Constable, Turner and Delacroix will be presented.
The series continues on Monday, November 25th with Realism: From Dramatic to Ordinary as ArtScapades looks at the subsequent move away from historical and literary themes towards common, ordinary subjects. Included in the lecture on Realism are works by Corot, Daumier, Millet, Courbet and Bonheur.
