Calling Their Shot

The New Canaan 8u Travel baseball team paid their respects to the greatest player of all time after today's game against the Hawthorne (NY) Panthers.

Babe Ruth's grave in Gate of Heaven Cemetery was mere minutes from the field, so the NC team made a brief detour to the Bambino's final resting spot.

The players spent some time learning about Ruth's amazing life; having overcome a difficult childhood in Baltimore to achieve unparalleled success - first as a pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, and then of course with his legendary exploits as the Yankees' slugging RF.

The 8's hope to channel some of the Babe's aura as they take on Rye Brook in a doubleheader on Sunday.
