Cops: $900 Bike Stolen from New Canaan Residence Garage

A mountain bike was stolen right out of the garage of a Weed Street residence Friday, New Canaan police said this week.

According to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc, the theft was reported at approximately 3:23 p.m. on June 14, but the victim reported it could have occurred anytime between that Wednesday and Friday.

The male victim reportedly lives in Greenwich but left the bright yellow Marin shoreline trail mountain bike unsecured in his parents garage in New Canaan.

The bike was valued at approximately $900, Orginc said, and also noted the bike was located in a carport in a position that would have made it difficult to see by passers-by.

An investigation in ongoing.
