First Selectman Jeb Walker invited Arnold Karp to fill one of the vacancies on the Town Center Planning Group, a nomination the other Selectmen will have to approve before it becomes final.  Walker outlined his plans for the committee's future in a release given to Patch and other local media.

New statewide distracted driving laws went into effect on Oct. 1. Town officials had already begun their own campaign against texting and talking while driving earlier in the month, and have said they reserve the right to confiscate devices being used illegally.
