Copper Taken From Construction Site, A.M. DWI

The following information was provided by the New Canaan Police Department. Arrests do not necessarily indicate convictions.

Copper Taken From Construction Site

Workers at a construction site on North Wilton Road told police $2,600 worth of copper items went missing from the property some time between 6:30 p.m. on July 14 and 7 a.m. the next morning. When the crew arrived at work on the morning of the 15th, they discovered the following items missing from the basement of the building:

  • Three lengths of 20-foot copper pipe valued at $300 each. 
  • A box containing assorted copper fittings worth about $500.
  • 120 8-inch x 12-inch copper flashing sheets with a total value of $1200.

DWI

On July 17 at 8:49 a.m. an officer doing radar checks on White Oak Shade near Old Rock Lane noticed a vehicle driving above the posted speed limit of 25 miles per hour. The officer radioed to another officer who stopped the driver. He detected the odor of alcohol on the driver's breath and conducted a field sobriety test. Conor House, 19, of New Canaan was charged with driving under the influence and driving at an unreasonable speed. He posted $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 29.
