Missing Motorolas, Found Items and Family Disputes [Update]

Between April 18 and 24, the New Canaan Police Department responded to the following calls: 80 motor vehicle violations 10 motor vehicle accidents, 35 location checks, 48 alarms and 24 medical assists.
Pagers Missing from Fire Station

Assistant Fire Chief Jack Hennessey said the box of Motorola pagers reported missing has been found. A clerical error on the part of the vendor triggered the search for the box which was believed to be missing. In fact, Hennessey told Patch in an e-mail, the box had never been shipped.

Assistant Fire Chief Jack Hennessey reported to police that a box containing six Motorola pagers had gone missing from the fire department at 60 Main St. The box was delivered on April 11 at 4:30, and signed for by a volunteer firefighter. The box was in the alarm room, which has open access. All the pagers are imprinted with New Canaan Fire and coded. Each pager is valued at $434.70, for a total loss of $2,600. Police have opened an investigation into the case.
Found Property
April 19, 4:39 p.m: A Millport Ave. resident who works for the New York Department of Transportation reported to police that he found a plastic bag containing personal items while working on I-287 in Westchester on April 18. The bag contained credit cards, receipts and a New Jersey driver license. New Canaan police reported the discovery to Ramsey, NJ police, who connected the items to a wallet theft from a fitness gym on April 11.
Domestic Disputes
April 22, 6:30 p.m: A 45-year-old Sherwood Lane resident was charged with third degree assault following a dispute with her husband that escalated. By the time police arrived at the family residence, the woman had left the property. Her husband told police his wife had struck him. He sustained minor injuries that did not require medical attention. Police issued a warrant for the woman’s arrest and she was picked up by Norwalk police on April 24. The woman was released on $1,500 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on April 25. The woman’s name is not being released because minor children were present at the time of the conflict.
April 22, 9:44 p.m: Deborah Bingle, 65, and John Bingle, 65, of North Wilton Road were both charged with disorderly conduct following a verbal argument. Police conducted an on scene investigation, and found no indication of violence. The two were issued misdemeanor summonses, and were released on promises to appear in court on April 25.
