Obama's Ratings at Two Year High

A poll taken after U.S. forces killed Osama bin Laden shows increased confidence in the president.

President Barack Obama's approval rating is at 60 percent, the highest it’s been in two years, according to an Associated Press-GfK poll taken after Osama bin Laden was killed by U.S. forces.

As reported on the Huffington Post, unaffiliated voters led the uptick in the president’s approval ratings. Support for Obama from this key voting bloc has diminished over the past two years. Independent voters are expected to play a critical role in the 2012 presidential election.

According to the poll, 69 percent of respondents say Obama will keep America safe, up from 61 percent in March.
