Stacy London's 'Style for Hire' Comes to New Canaan

Stacy London's new company STYLE FOR HIRE teaches you what not to wear... and also what TO wear!

Have you ever watched TLC's "What Not to Wear" on TV and wished that host Stacy London could come into your closet and help you overhaul your wardrobe....only (preferably??) without the TV audience looking on? Well, now you can!

Ms. London recently launched a company called STYLE FOR HIRE. As Stacy has said, she is "raising an army" of experienced professional stylists to work with women all over the country, in big cities as well as in smaller communities. And I'm one of those stylists!

My name is Susan Singer. I live and work in New Canaan and I'm an experienced professional stylist with more than 20 years of experience. I joined Style for Hire over a year ago after being personally trained by Stacy, and I am ready and able to help women in our town develop and hone their individual style. Read more about me here in my Style for Hire profile.

Here's how it works. Go to StyleforHire.com and enter our New Canaan zip code 06840. Scroll through the stylist profiles and find mine. Submit a request for my services online, choosing a date that works best for you. I will then meet you at your home and together we will go into your closet where I will help you "audit" or curate your wardrobe.

First and foremost, my goal is to teach you how to maximize the wardrobe you already own by suggesting ways to put your outfits together in combinations you may not have considered. I will also work with you to determine which pieces can be tailored to make them more current, and which ones may be ready for donation. Once your Closet Audit is completed, I will take you shopping to find those pieces which, when added to your wardrobe, will maximize its versatility.

With my help, the shopping process becomes quick, efficient, productive... and even fun! And after the shopping is completed, I'll come back to your closet and integrate your new pieces with your current wardrobe and create many outfits for you, photographing each "look" as we go along.

I will then send you an electronic LOOK BOOK, complete with captions and reminders, that you can scroll through on your iPad or print out and keep in your closet. Each morning, you can look through your photos, choose your look for the day and suddenly getting dressed becomes a no-brainer.

Most important of all, with my help and the tools I've gained from being in the  Style for Hire network, you will walk out of your home every day with confidence, knowing that you look your best; put-together, stylish, and totally YOU.

Where DIDN'T you learn to write?? Jane Himmel May 22, 2013 at 01:27 pm "This has CONVINCED MYRead More GROWING CONVICTION that Patch has moved complete..."

I just called Staples. This is really disturbing to me. If I don't get a satisfactory answer, IRead More will let people know and I will also decide whether to continue shopping there. I do not like to give my money to unethical businesses.

This has convinced my growing conviction that Patch has moved completely away from any pretense ofRead More being a news source and is simply an electronic bulletin board. By abandoning their prior procedure of approving posts before they go up, they are letting anything go on and then taking them down if they're reported. By then, it's too late: the poster has gotten their message across during the time it's in the lineup. I only check in with Patch occasionally now and so many people in town won't read it at all anymore. I think we need to be honest with ourselves about what kind of a public forum this venue is. This doesn't reflect well on Staples if they are using subterfuge and violating Terms of Use on Patch either.

Tom, the tree warden doesn't just "put in trees and take them down" just like that. ThereRead More is a reason behind every tree that has come down or gone up. Whats with this town and trees anyway? It seems like a huge source of controversy...they are TREES.

if they had done it at night at least it wouldn't have been smudged. BUT, i happen to think itsRead More nice, and especially with the flags hanging. we forget we are a small new england town, and small things like the red white and blue stripes remind me that we still are! :)
